How green is your mutual fund? Research group Trucost studied the 75 largest stock funds, measuring how much carbon their holdings emit.
Not only are big emissions bad for the environment, they can hit companies through higher operating costs if the government boosts regulation. Funds in oil, gas and utilities tend to post higher emissions, while banks and health care offer less.
