DENVER—Colorado Republican congressman Mike Coffman has introduced a bill to provide tax breaks for water conservation.
Coffman said Monday the bill would provide tax breaks of 30 percent for people who buy water-conservation products certified by the Environmental Protection Agency.
The program would provide a tax credit up to $1,500 to people who buy water-conserving hardware such as faucets and toilets.
Coffman says Colorado will need additional water over the next two decades and this bill will help meet some of the demand.
