COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Authorities say the weekend deaths of a Colorado Springs couple have been ruled a murder-suicide.
The El Paso County coroner said Tuesday that 36-year-old Paula Ordaz was a homicide victim and that her husband, 38-year-old Fidencio Ordaz-Gonzalez, committed suicide.
Authorities say each was killed with one shot from a semiautomatic handgun.
A SWAT team responding to a report of shots fired on Sunday afternoon found Ordaz-Gonzalez dead and his wife critically injured. She was hospitalized but died Monday.
Police say the couple were separated. Authorities say there are no records of any domestic violence calls to the home.
They say Ordaz-Gonzalez was not living in the home at the time.
