The woman who once ran the Jefferson County Children’s Alliance is out on bail on charges that she stole $20,000 from the group.
Cheryl Fugett, 58, of Denver is charged with theft and forgery, the Jefferson County district attorney’s office said in a news release. Authorities say the thefts occurred between December 2003 and February 2007.
Fugett was executive director of the Children’s Alliance until December 2006.
Details of the alleged crimes are not available because the arrest warrant has been sealed.
Authorities have been looking for Fugett since December. She was found in Oregon in March and extradited earlier this month, the release said.
Her first court date is May 19.
