OGDEN, Utah — Health authorities say bedbugs have returned to Utah, as elsewhere in the nation, with a vengeance.

Clearfield exterminator Tracy Teeples said bedbugs, virtually nonexistent in North America for decades, started showing up in Utah about two years ago.

The Third World bugs can attach themselves easily to travelers’ luggage and clothes.

In one case, the bugs hitched a ride with a Utah woman who returned from California and found herself on the biting end of bugs at her apartment a few weeks later. Associated Press
