, the scheduled headliner for Friday’s West African Highlife Ensemble concert at CU-Boulder’s , had to return to South Africa unexpectedly last week to attend his grandmother’s funeral. That didn’t stop the Ensemble and fill-in headliner (of Grammy-winners Béla Fleck and the Flecktones) from showing off their stuff, whether in African song and dance or Wooten’s staggering array of fingerboard skills while playing what seemed like four ten-minute songs.
