DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — The Emirates will investigate a member of its ruling family over videotapes showing the sheik torturing another man, the country’s official news agency reported.
The move will be the first of its kind in the federation, where ruling families have remained untouchable and beyond reproach.
Torture allegations against Sheik Issa bin Zayed Al Nahyan first surfaced a year ago. The victim is believed to be a man whom the sheik felt had overcharged him in a grain deal.
