COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—One person is dead after a motorcycle crash on U.S. 24 near Ellicott Highway.
The wreck happened just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities say 20-year-old Daniel Benson of Calhan was killed when he crossed the center line in a no-passing zone and ran into a Ford pickup.
The driver of the truck survived. Police say Benson’s Suzuki motorcycle slid almost 300 feet after the crash. Benson was flown to Memorial Hospital, where he died of his injuries.
