BOULDER — A 12-pound dog taped to a refrigerator during a domestic dispute was due for some good luck.

Now the Shiba Inu’s name will even say it. Voters in an online contest have christened him Yoshi, Japanese for “good luck,” according to the Humane Society of Boulder County.

“We are very happy with the outcome of this story,” said Lisa Pedersen, the society’s chief executive.

A University of Colorado student, Amy Toll, is accused of taping her boyfriend’s dog, then known as Rex, to the refrigerator after a fight April 14. The dog, in great pain, was rescued. Yoshi has been adopted by Shannon and Amy Park, who own two other Shiba Inus. The Denver Post
