DENVER—The Nuggets flag is flying over the Colorado Capitol as Denver takes on the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference finals.
Gov. Bill Ritter, the Nuggets dancers and mascot Rocky were present Tuesday when the team banner was raised over the Capitol in downtown Denver.
Ritter proclaimed May as “Nuggets May-nia Month.” He said the team has overcome “adversity, injuries and countless other challenges” and inspired people across Colorado.
The Lakers downed the Nuggets 105-103 in Game 1 Tuesday night at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
