COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Salida junior Emily Wood was the individual champion at 3-over-par 152 and helped Salida, a 2A school, tie Cheyenne Mountain at 525 strokes at the conclusion of the Class 4A girls golf tournament Tuesday at Patty Jewett Golf Course.

Wood, who was sixth the last two years, carded 77 to go with her opening 75, when she led by a stroke. She beat runner-up Kathleen Kershisnick of Regis by seven shots.

Rock Canyon (516) posted 262-254, while Cheyenne Mountain (525) improved 13 strokes from 269 to 256.

The Indians, who were fifth after 18 holes, passed Kent Denver (531) and Broomfield (535) on the second day and caught first-day leader Salida (259-266).
