ASPEN, Colo.—The highway over Colorado’s 12,100-foot-high Independence Pass has reopened for the season.
State highway crews opened the pass Thursday but cautioned that spring storms could cause temporary closures.
Colorado 82 crosses the pass, connecting Aspen and Leadville. It closed for the season on Nov. 5.
Colorado 5 to the summit of 14,264-foot Mount Evans is scheduled to open for the season on Friday, although some weekday closures are planned after July Fourth for road repairs.
