Programs serving youth and the elderly were among the major recipients as the Daniels Fund announced $3.8 million in grants at its quarterly meeting this week.

The nonprofit fund also elected Hank Brown, former president of the University of Colorado, as the new board chairman, succeeding Daniel L. Ritchie, who concluded a two-year term in the position.

Major recipients included: Bayaud Enterprises Inc., the city of Aurora’s Office of Youth Development, Colorado League of Charter Schools, Colorado School of Mines Mobile Science Show, Colorado Youth at Risk Inc., Dominican Sisters Home Health Agency, Family HomeStead, KIPP Sunshine Peak Academy Inc., Leaders Challenge, Seniors Inc., Seniors Resource Center Inc., The Denver Street School and the Colorado Children’s Campaign.
