AURORA, Colo.—A man convicted of killing a woman and setting fire to her Aurora apartment faces life in prison when he’s sentenced next week.

Twenty-seven-year-old Andrew Draper was convicted in March of first-degree murder and several arson charges in the 2006 slaying of Monet Turner.

The murder conviction carries a mandatory sentence of life without parole.

Turner’s body was found in her burned-out apartment on June 20, 2006, and Draper was injured that same day in a crash in Weld County while driver Turner’s car, which had been reported stolen.

His sentencing hearing is June 1.
