FORT COLLINS, Colo.—A 20-year-old Fort Collins woman who was murdered a year ago will be remembered next week with a pet walk and adoption event.
Linnea Dick’s body was found May 30 in a home where two fires had been started. Twenty-nine-year-old Joseph Curl pleaded guilty to first-degree murder while committing a burglary and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Dick’s family says she loved animals and sometimes took in strays.
Donations and proceeds from souvenir sales from the June 6 pet walk will go toward helping special-needs animals.
The lead sponsor of the event is Animal Rescue Connection. Dick’s aunt, Rose Carroll, is a co-founder of the group.
