Police say a 14-year-old stole a car and led police officers on a high-speed chase from Wyoming early Wednesday morning, reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph and resulting in a crash.

Ault Police say the 14-year-old stole the vehicle after walking away from a juvenile treatment facility in Cheyenne just before 4 a.m.

Police say the driver took Highway 85 south through Wyoming, past the Colorado State Line, forcing Cheyenne Police to give up the pursuit.

When the driver neared Eaton, officers spotted the car and continued the chase near Ault.

The driver of the car eventually lost control, ran over a bench and then into the side of a pharmacy in Eaton, according to the responding officers.

Officers at the scene say the driver was taken to Northern Colorado Medical Center.

Police say the teen will face charges of felony eluding, theft by receiving and reckless driving.
