COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A man being held on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder for an apartment shooting claims he fired at a teen in self-defense.
An arrest warrant affidavit says 37-year-old Timothy Barfoot told police he shot 19-year-old Christopher Manuel after the teen threw a beer bottle at a window of a home where Barfoot and two other men lived.
Manuel, who was standing outside the apartment when he was shot, remains hospitalized in fair condition.
Barfoot remained in custody Wednesday at the El Paso County jail under $50,000 bail. His next court hearing is scheduled for June 11.
