A man who died from burns suffered in an Aurora apartment blaze that officials say was caused by arson has been identified as Jose De Jesus Martinez, 52.
He died Sunday morning at a local hospital after being injured in a May 28 blaze at 2301 Emporia St., according to the Aurora Police Department.
Two suspects, Douglas Taylor Jr., 34, and Coy Thomas Marty Dunn, 21, face multiple charges, including first-degree murder.
Quoting an arrest affidavit, the Aurora Sentinel reported Thursday on its website that Taylor allegedly set the fire intending to target his ex-girlfriend. She told police that Taylor “is a fire freak.”
