DENVER—One of three men who pleaded guilty in the shooting death of a 10-year-old girl during an attempted robbery at her house has been sentenced to 16 years in prison.
Twenty-one-year-old Juvencio Hernandez had pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the November 2007 death of Auralia Cisneros. Prosecutors say she was she was killed after Hernandez and two other men exchanged gunfire with someone inside her home.
Hernadez was sentenced Friday.
Twenty-year-old Joshua Rojas and 21-year-old Trivi Trujillo are awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to second-degree murder. Rojas is expected to be sentenced Aug. 20, and Trujillo on Sept. 3.
The girl’s father, Leo Cisneros, was also charged in her death. He’s expected to go on trial in August.
