AURORA, Colo.—Aurora police have arrested a man in connection to his girlfriend’s April death after the coroner ruled she died from blunt force trauma.

Police say 38-year-old Kotch Ouellette was arrested Friday in Westminster after the death of 45-year-old Jennifer Sheppard was ruled a homicide this week.

Police had arrested Ouellette before on April 14 when they responded to a report of domestic violence at a home where Sheppard was injured. She told officers at the time that she had hit her head during an altercation with Oullette but she refused medical attention.

Sheppard was found dead at a home two days later.

Oullette is being held at the Arapahoe County jail on investigation of second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and domestic violence.
