One of three men who pleaded guilty in the shooting death of a 10-year-old girl during an attempted robbery at her house was sentenced Friday to 16 years in prison.
Juvencio Hernandez, 21, had pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the November 2007 death of Auralia Cisneros. Prosecutors said she was killed after Hernandez and two other men exchanged gunfire with someone inside her home.
Joshua Rojas, 20, and Trivi Trujillo, 21, are awaiting sentencing after also pleading guilty to second-degree murder. Rojas is expected to be sentenced Aug. 20, and Trujillo on Sept. 3.
The girl’s father, Leo Cisneros, was also charged in her death. He’s expected to go on trial in August.
