GOLDEN — A 43-year-old man was sentenced to 55 years in prison Friday in the first of seven felony cases related to a six-month crime spree in early 2008.

Three of the seven cases totaling more than 100 felony counts against Garry Wendall Martin were filed in Jefferson County. Two cases were filed in Denver, one in Arapahoe County and one in Grand County.

The first of Martin’s cases went to trial in Jefferson County in April. The jury found him guilty of kidnapping, first-degree burglary, aggravated robbery, extortion, identity theft, theft, assault and four violent crime counts. His son, Vincent, also was found guilty in that case and received a five-year sentence.

Martin also was sentenced Friday to three years in prison in the second of the three Jefferson County cases, with the sentence to be served concurrently with the 55-year sentence. That case involved copying patrons’ personal information while working as a manager at PTs strip club in Denver.
