TORONTO — Substitute Edson Buddle scored the winning goal late in the second half as Los Angeles extended its unbeaten streak to 10 games.

It was the first victory for the Galaxy (2-1-9) after five consecutive draws.

The Galaxy broke a 1-1 tie in the 77th minute when Alan Gordon’s pass sent a streaking Buddle in alone to score against his former team.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Guillermo Barros Schelotto capitalized on an early defensive mistake for a goal, then tacked on a second-half penalty kick for another, and Columbus broke an eight-match road winless streak.

Schelotto’s eight goals this season tie him with the Rapids’ Conor Casey for the league goal scoring lead.
