Passenger traffic at Denver International Airport dipped in April, marking the fourth consecutive month of decline.
The rate of the drop — attributed to airlines’ capacity reductions — was smaller than in February and March, DIA officials said Tuesday.
The passenger total for April was 3,941,539, a drop of 3.3 percent from the 4,078,112 travelers recorded during April 2008. Still, it was DIA’s third-busiest April.
In a news release, DIA officials said the airport had the smallest percentage decrease in passengers of any of the top 10 U.S. airports.
The April total raised DIA’s year-to-date passenger count to 15,436,572, which was 5.1 percent below the 16,270,649 travelers during the first four months of 2008. DIA’s passenger traffic has declined in six out of the last seven months. Ann Schrader
