DENVER—Denver police say a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run is behind bars.

Twenty-year-old Travis J. Scott of Broomfield was arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop in Leadville. Police there noticed that damage to his car was likely caused by a crash with a pedestrian.

Denver police say Scott is being held in Denver’s jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident involving a death and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, among other charges.

He is suspected in the hit-and-run death of 30-year-old Amber Gomez on Tuesday.
