Hear them roar
Colorado’s women-run companies and nonprofits, along with female business owners, authors, speakers, designers, artisans and musicians, will gather today at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park (6000 Victory Way, Commerce City) for the annual Festival of Women. Beginning at 3 p.m. and running until the start of tonight’s soccer match between the Colorado Rapids and D.C. United, the festival includes workshops, pampering, shopping, kids’ activities and a keynote address by former Colorado first lady Dottie Lamm. The Denver Botanic Gardens hosts a new natural-living fair June 27. Dubbed “Down to Earth,” the event will highlight local mind, body and home experts and exhibitors who specialize in health and sustainability. Glean inspiration from the City Park West home of Pamela Fischer, owner of Design a la Carte, who is hosting the brunch. Future’s so bright
New Town Builders unveils its first solar-powered home in Denver’s Stapleton neighborhood today. The house utilizes the SunPower solar system with an Internet interface for remote monitoring.
