OMAHA—Four people promising amazing investment returns collectively raised more than $11 million and then used to proceeds to pay gambling expenses, real estate mortgages and future investors in the Ponzi-style scheme. That’s according to the allegation the Securities and Exchange Commission made in a federal lawsuit against the four people: a Nebraska man, a Texas man and a Florida couple. By Josh Funk.
