DENVER—A man faces 24 years in prison after pleading guilty to killing a man and wounding six others during a shooting outside a nightclub.
Twenty-six-year-old Anthony Chavez pleaded guilty Monday in Denver District Court to second-degree murder. Prosecutors say Chavez shot at a group of people after a fight outside the Hush nightclub as it was closing.
Killed in the November 2007 shooting was 25-year-old Ted Padilla.
Prosecutors say Chavez fled to Mexico but later surrendered and was brought to Denver to face charges.
He is expected to be sentenced July 28.
