Nadine Montoya, accused of running over 49-year-old Lilian Verdonkschot with her car, has been charged with first-degree murder by the Denver district attorney’s office.

Verdonkschot was fatally injured in the early morning hours of May 29 at the Burger King restaurant at Sixth Avenue and Broadway. She died at a local hospital shortly after allegedly being struck by a car driven by Montoya, 26.

The charge alleges that the incident occurred in the parking lot of the restaurant after an altercation in the drive-through lane.

Verdonkschot is survived by two children, her parents and two sisters and a brother.

Montoya is in the Denver County Jail, where she is being held without bail.

She is to appear Monday in Denver County Court where she will be advised of the charge.
