DEVELOPING: BLAMING ZOLOFT, COUNTY TREASURES

SWINE FLU-NEBRASKA

OMAHA—It appears a Pennsylvania girl who attended an international thespian festival in Lincoln likely has the swine flu. Kathie Osterman with the state’s Department of Health and Human Services on Sunday said test results have shown the girl has a probable case. Another test is needed to confirm the girl has the virus. But Osterman says every probable case in the state in the past has turned out positive. By Jean Ortiz.

BLAMING ZOLOFT

OMAHA—A Nebraska inmate serving time for his girlfriend’s murder is the latest person to blame an antidepressant for influencing deadly behavior, but it remains unclear how the far the case might go. The arguments Randall Robbins II makes in his lawsuit echo claims made in a few other cases since 2004 when antidepressants gained new warning labels highlighting the risk of suicidal behavior in people under 18. But none of the other cases have prevailed against Zoloft’s maker, Pfizer Inc. By Josh Funk.

COUNTY TREASURES

FREMONT—You might say they found a little buried treasure at the Saunders County Courthouse. Not real treasure as in jewels or gold coins, but pieces of the past, things county officials never expected to find, such as the original courthouse blueprints from more than a century ago. By Tammy Real-McKeighan of the Fremont Tribune. Eds: A Nebraskaland Feature.

BUSINESS:

— BEEF RECALL—JBS Swift Beef Co. of Greeley, Colo., is voluntarily expanding its beef recall to include about 380,000 pounds of products because of possible E. coli contamination.
