DENVER—The state patrol says a two-car, head-on crash has killed four people in southeastern Colorado.
The accident occurred early Sunday morning on U.S. 287 near Wiley when a vehicle driven by a teenage male crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming car.
The patrol says the teenage driver and a teenage female passenger were killed as their minivan went off the road and burst into flames.
The driver of the other vehicle, a woman from Washington state, and a female passenger from Oklahoma were also killed. One passenger in each of the vehicles was hospitalized with serious injuries.
The victims’ names were being withheld until relatives could be notified.
Patrol spokesman Sgt. John Hahn says authorities don’t suspect drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
