A deputy in El Paso County used a Taser on a man early this morning after the suspect bit a woman and then bit the deputy, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to a call of a disturbance in the 1100 block of Chiricahua Loop at 3:45 a.m., according to a media release from the Sheriff’s Office. When they arrived, a 30-year-old woman told them she had been bitten during an argument with the suspect, who was not there.

The woman was taken to a local hospital, and a deputy stayed at the scene. At about 4:30 a.m., a man fitting the suspect’s description came by the residence and when the deputy tried to talk with him, the man “turned and began to fight with the deputy,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

“During the fight, the suspect bit the deputy on the forearm,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “The deputy deployed his Taser and was able to control the suspect until additional deputies could respond.”

Timothy Gaby, 21, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault on a peace officer and third-degree assault.

Gaby also had three outstanding warrants. He is being held at the El Paso County Jail.
