LOVELAND, Colo.—Loveland police say an officer was injured during an arrest at an apartment complex.

Police on Monday identified the officer as Derek Stephens.

Authorities say Stephens was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies with serious injuries. The nature of his injuries hasn’t been released.

Police haven’t said how Stephens was injured, but a juvenile was arrested on suspicion of assault, false imprisonment, criminal mischief, underage consumption of alcohol, obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest.

Police say officers went to an apartment shortly after midnight on Sunday after a report of a disturbance.

Stephens joined the Loveland police in 2007 after working for the Grand Junction police.
