GREELEY, Colo.—The University of Northern Colorado has ended a summer youth camp early after 10 students and three staff members showed symptoms of swine flu.
UNC officials said Sunday they were still awaiting test results to see if the 13 had the flu. None have been hospitalized, and UNC spokesman Nate Haas says all seem to be responding well to treatment.
About 230 students from fifth through 12th grade were participating in the Summer Enrichment Program on UNC’s Greeley campus for students in gifted and talented classes. Most were from Colorado.
The program was halted on the recommendation of Weld County health officials.
UNC has begun disinfecting dining rooms and other areas the students and staff had used.
