Like “The Amazing Race,” but on bikes, in Denver. The New Belgium Urban Assault Ride starts at 9 a.m. Sunday. Two-person bike teams chart their own courses to checkpoints at Elitch Gardens, Wheat Ridge Cyclery and Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant in LoDo, where they will face obstacles like the human wheelbarrow, the keg walk and bike jousting. The first team to the finish line wins a pair of limited-edition cruiser bikes. Open to ages 7 and older. Tandems and tag-alongs are welcome. An after-party with food and beer for sale will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Skyline Park, 16th and Arapahoe streets. Riders must register online by Friday ($60 per person; a portion goes to nonprofit Bike Denver) or in person Saturday at Govnr’s Park, 672 Logan St. urbanassaultride.com
