WASHINGTON — Sen. Jim Bunning of Kentucky says he will not run for a third term in 2010, citing a lack of campaign money. The GOP feared the 77- year-old Bunning’s seat would fall to Democrats if he was on the ballot. Led by fellow Kentuckian and Senate Minority Leader Mitch Mc Connell, GOP leaders mounted an unsubtle campaign to persuade Bunning to step aside.
