For the second time in a month, state health officials are warning of a salmonella outbreak.
The Colorado Department of Health on Friday urged Coloradans to either avoid eating or thoroughly cook ground beef to avoid illness.
The department reported 21 cases of salmonella have been reported in the state. Four people have been hospitalized and are recovering.
Most of the people became sick in the end of June or the beginning of July, said Mark Salley, health department spokesman.
The investigation as to the source of the meat in the latest outbreak is ongoing, Salley said. It is possible that the contamined meat is still on sale.
