GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo.—A western Colorado man has been arrested on charges of forcing another vehicle off the road while impersonating an officer.
A Garfield County sheriff’s report accuses 51-year-old John E. Dalessandro of Basalt of pulling his car up beside another on Sunday, telling the other driver he was an officer and ordering the driver to pull over.
The report says that when the driver refused, Dalessandro forced the other vehicle off the road and produced a fake badge. It says he was wearing a T-shirt with a state patrol logo.
Deputies say Dalessandro left after an altercation.
He was arrested on suspicion of impersonating an officer, harassment, false imprisonment and other allegations. Bail was set at $50,000.
No phone listing could be found for him.
