Construction continues at the Denver Botanic Gardens.
The contents of the 10 older greenhouses at the York Street location have been moved to the Chatfield greenhouses this summer as new greenhouses are being built at York Street.
The older greenhouses were being demolished today.
The new visitor and gift shop is open, the gardens announced on its web site, and 200 spaces in the new parking structure are already available.
The improvements are funded by $18.6 million in bond proceeds, as well as $14 million the gardens has raised, said Brian Vogt, the chief executive officer of the Denver Botanic Gardens.
