LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska nose tackle Ndamukong (en-DOM-uh-ken) Suh (SOO) is among 40 players on the 2009 Outland Trophy Watch List.
The Football Writers Association of America presents the Outland to the nation’s top interior lineman.
The initial list of candidates was released Tuesday, and more names could be added in October. The winner will be announced Dec. 10 and honored at a banquet in Omaha on Jan. 14.
Suh is the Big 12’s preseason defensive player of the year and one of nine linemen from the conference on the list.
He made 76 tackles in 2008 and was the first lineman to lead the Huskers in tackles in 35 seasons.
