GREELEY, Colo.—It’s been about 5,000 days since the family of Tina Tournai Sandoval last saw her.
Family spokesman Robert Kuznik said Thursday that not a day has passed when her absence hasn’t been felt.
This week her ex-husband, John Sandoval, was extradited from Las Vegas to Weld County to face a first-degree murder charge in her death. A court hearing is set for Oct. 14.
Tina Tournai Sandoval disappeared Oct. 19, 1995, after telling friends and family she was going to talk to her ex-husband about money he owed her.
Weld District Attorney Ken Buck has said the passage of time has weakened the likely defense that she just left. He says he’s confident of a conviction, though no body has been found and there’s no new evidence.
