WASHINGTON — In a bid to head off any embarrassing incidents, the State Department said Tuesday that it is working with Libya to find a place for Libyan leader Moammar Khadafy to stay when he visits the United Nations next month. Khadafy was planning to stay at a Libyan-owned estate in Englewood, N.J. But some of the families of victims of the Lockerbie bombing live nearby, and officials and residents protested the idea.
