DENVER—Another Republican is considering entering the U.S. Senate race to challenge Democratic incumbent Michael Bennet.
Former state Sen. Tom Wiens (weens) of Douglas County said Tuesday he has created an exploratory committee, and he sent an e-mail to supporters on asking for donations.
Wiens is a businessman and operates a ranch in Douglas County.
Two other Republicans are already hoping to be the party’s candidate—Aurora City Councilman Ryan Frazier and Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck.
Former congressman Bob Beauprez (BOW’-pray) recently decided against entering the race.
