Getting your player ready...

LINCOLN, Neb.—The Nebraska Cornhuskers are getting excited about their first game on Saturday.

Defensive coordinator Carl Pelini says the team is looking forward to facing Florida Atlantic this weekend.

Pelini says the team had a good day of practice Wednesday when the players practiced outside in full pads for about two hours.

Pelini says the starting linebackers Saturday will be redshirt freshmen Sean Fisher, Will Compton and either junior Blake Lawrence or sophomore Mat May.

Pelini says the linebackers will be busy Saturday covering Florida Atlantic’s talented tight ends, but they’ll be ready because they’ve been practicing against Nebraska’s athletic tight ends.
