FORT CARSON, Colo.—The Defense Department says a Fort Carson soldier has died from wounds he suffered in combat in Afghanistan.
The military says 27-year-old Sgt. Randy M. Haney of Orlando, Fla., died Sunday in Nangarhar.
The military says he was wounded when his unit was attacked with small arms and rocket-propelled grenades.
He was assigned to Fort Carson’s 2nd Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.
Haney is the 11th Fort Carson soldier killed in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
Another 255 Fort Carson soldiers have been killed in combat in Iraq.
