Pictograph this

Wallace Ranch pictographs exhibit, Southeastern Colorado Heritage Center, 201 W. B St., Pueblo; 719-295-1517,

Rocks of ages.

These 700-year-old burnt-sienna pictographs were rescued before the Pueblo reservoir drowned the community of Swallows, including the historic limestone drawings on rocks at Wallace Ranch. Formerly housed at the now-defunct Holy Cross Abbey in Cañon City, the rock art has found a new home at this museum. Admission is free for the pictographs’ grand opening Sept. 26.
