Os Mutantes are synonymous with Brazil’s tropicalia movement, as well as the tumult of the late ’60s that framed the original trio’s best-known work. While they are a different band now than in their heyday, their new album retains the political overtones and songcraft that made them a legend. Thursday at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom, with Spanish-Jewish rockers DeLeon. $20-$22.
Rodrigo y Gabriela possess an intimidating arsenal of gifts. The Mexican classical guitar duo is tight yet playful, juxtaposing Metallica covers with breathless flamenco originals that hint at their metal backgrounds and sense of adventure. Saturday at the Buell Theatre, touring behind new album “11,” released this month. $35-$42. Ticketmaster
