The union representing the Denver Police Department reached an agreement with the city on Monday, which, if ratified by the union, will mean no layoffs for the department.

Police Protective Association President Lt. Vincent Gavito said, based on his conversations with “hundreds” of union members, that he expects officers to approve the new deal. They will vote on the agreement Oct. 5 and 6.
