LONGMONT, Colo.—Satellite image provider DigitalGlobe Inc. says the launch of its new satellite has been pushed back because of a delay in the launch of another mission in line before it.
WorldView-2 was scheduled for launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., on Oct. 6. DigitalGlobe said Thursday no new date has been scheduled but the delay isn’t expected to be significant.
WorldView-2 would be the company’s third satellite.
DigitalGlobe, based in Longmont, sells high-resolution satellite images to defense, intelligence and commercial clients for mapping and analysis, environmental monitoring, energy exploration, navigation and other uses.
