An 26-year old Army officer was arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection at Denver International Airport Wednesday on a warrant in connection to a June sex assault in Fort Collins, authorities said today.
Zachary Busenbark was taken into custody as he arrived on a flight from Frankfurt, Germany.
Busenkirk, who is from Fort Collins and is a 2006 ROTC graduate of the University of Wyoming, where he studied criminal justice, faces a charge of sex assault-overcoming a victim’s will, a class 4 felony.
A warrant for his arrest was issued on Sept. 9, according to public records.
Details of the alleged assault and the circumstances of his surrender were not immediately available.
